hakone hot springs HOTEL

Hakone ltd. is a Shanghai-based hot springs and resorts company with operations in several cities in China.

One of the latest projects is in Deyang, Sichuan Province, a place well known for its abundant natural springs and mineral waters. As requested by the owner, the design was inspired by Japanese onsen hot springs aesthetics.

The project seeks simplicity in every corner of its design, intending to value the user experience over the building and offer a subtle relaxing feeling for visitors. The project includes several pool areas, resting areas, restaurants, spa, massage rooms, and game rooms, which counts for about 7320 m2.

The design company in charge was HMD International Chongqing Ltd. I participated as a project director and senior designer for the concept and project proposal of the interior design.
