BEACH RESORT & overwater bungalows, concept design
This project is an architecture and interior design concept for a small beach hotel resort, including bungalows and related facilities, located in the eastern part of Puerto Rico. The project includes 26 rooms inside the two main buildings, a beach lounge with swimming pool and event center, spa, gym, and a restaurant. The project also includes five beach overwater bungalows, a tiki bar, and a children’s water park that resembles a pod of whales.
The design was inspired by the small wooden fishing boats resting on the beach during low tide. The hotel’s dynamic wooden structure and design resemble the curved wood used to manufacture those boats.
Counting outdoor facilities, the project’s total area is 1562 m2. The project is in the early design stage and client’s preapproval. Jaime Salazar designed the whole project as an independent designer, with collaboration of two additional designers.
